Approximately 500 years before Christopher Columbus ever set foot in America, he was beaten to the punch by a Norseman named Leif Ericson. It is believed that October 9 is symbolic in honoring Leif Ericson Day ahead of Columbus Day for that reason. In honor of Ericson, Roark, named this sweater after him in his Volume 7: “Rocketship To Reykjavik” Fall/Holiday collection as well.
