Beginning in 1990, Tom Curren and Maurice Cole entered into a surfing and shaping partnership that began with the development of the Reverse Vee surfboard and culminated in Curren’s trials to World Champ season. The Reverse Vee was actually a happy accident, partly the result of blanks that arrived with too much rocker, but quickly turned into a design that defied common shaping theories of the era. The boards would carve at higher speeds and allowed for ultrafast rail surfing. After years of dormancy, Maurice has decided to resurface the design, making it available to the public once again via custom order. What’s more, Maurice exclusively shaped one of the first in the latest wave of this classic design for Roark and we are giving it away on surfline.com.
